My name is Chandler Burns, and I’m asking for help during one of the most painful times our family has ever faced. In January, we tragically lost my cousin, Michael Nicks, to suicide at just 36 years old. Michael was a deeply loving and a caring soul who touched so many lives, even while quietly battling with anxiety and depression. His loss has left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.
Although it has been a few months since his passing, our family is still struggling to move forward under the weight of the funeral expenses that remain unpaid due to financial hardship. Grief doesn’t end when time passes, and neither do the financial burdens that come with such a sudden loss. We want to honor Michael with the dignity and peace he deserves, but we cannot do it alone.
Any support—no matter how small—means more than words can express during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for helping us lay Michael to rest and for surrounding our family with love, compassion, and continued support as we navigate life without him.
