Support for Mesa, Blake, and Baby Jack
Donation protected
On January 8th, my sister Mesa, brother-in-law Blake, and their baby Jack (8 months old) lost everything in the devastating Pacific Palisades fire. The home, which belonged to our visionary grandmother, was completely destroyed. In the chaos of the evacuation, they left with only the bare essentials, believing they would be able to return. While the house wasn’t theirs, my sister and her family lost their current home base, personal belongings, cherished keepsakes, and countless essential items in the fire. They now face the overwhelming challenge of starting over, figuring out a new living situation that works with their jobs and childcare needs, as well as mourning the loss of both their home and their cat, Leo – all with an 8-month-old in tow.
They are still in shock, struggling to process this unimaginable loss and grappling with the reality that their lives have been completely upended. In the days since the fire, they’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of kindness and support from friends, family, and the community. In times like this, it’s hard even to know where to begin with asking for help.
Initially, they were hesitant to accept financial help, recognizing the immense need for support elsewhere in the world. However, their community has encouraged them to accept the generosity they would readily extend to others if the roles were reversed. At this time, financial support will make a significant impact as they navigate this sort of loss.
On behalf of Mesa and Blake, we humbly accept your support however it may be given. If others are curious about how they can support this family, please share this campaign with them.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, kindness, and generosity. Your support brings a sense of humanity and hope in this challenging time.
