Support for Memorial of a Beloved Father

To those of you who have known my father, he was diagnosed with colon cancer this time last year and has been battling with it since. During his journey, he had successful treatment and surgeries that gave him the strong will to keep going. Things were going positively until he took an unexpected turn a few weeks ago and developed an infection. Sadly, he departed from us this past weekend.

He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend, and a great brother in the church to all. My father was not perfect, but he was a very caring, witty, and stoic gentleman. He did not express his love to us in a straightforward way (as you all know how most old-fashioned Asian parents can be). There was no "I love you" or hugs in the house - it was all tough love. For years, he was a great chef in that his cooking was his way of expressing his love to his family and all those he cared for. Even when he was unwell, whenever we had family gatherings, holidays, or friends coming over, my mom and him would make a feast and made sure we were all well fed. In his final moments at the hospital, despite his pain and suffering, he continued to be selfless. He wanted to see all of his family and make calls to those who were not able to make it, to make sure we were all taken care of, and to eat with him before saying goodbye.

Our family is completely heartbroken; however, we know that my dad is at peace with God now in the heavens. We are doing our best to move forward and continue supporting each other at this grievous moment. My father would like to be transported to Southern California for his burial. Our family is asking for your prayers and assistance as we plan for his memorial. Any donation would be much greatly appreciated.

Revelation 21:4
" And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death will be no more, nor will there be sorrow or crying or pain anymore; for the former things have passed away."
