With heavy hearts, we are asking for support for the children and final arrangements of our beloved Melvina Khadijah Jones. On January 29, 2026, Melvina’s life was tragically taken in a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver at the intersection of 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. She passed away at the scene. Our family is still in shock and disbelief over this sudden and devastating loss. Melvina was only 35 years old, yet she lived a life filled with purpose, ambition, and love. She was a devoted single mother to two beautiful children, a 9-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son, who were the center of her world. Everything she did was for them. Their laughter, safety, and future motivated every step she took. Despite the challenges she faced, Melvina was incredibly driven and accomplished. She earned two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees, and just last year began working toward her PhD. She believed deeply in education, growth, and building a better life, not only for herself but for her children and everyone she inspired along the way. As if this loss were not already unbearable, Melvina had recently experienced profound heartbreak. Just six months ago, she lost her mother following a kidney transplant. Through her grief, she remained strong for her children, continuing to show resilience, grace, and determination. Melvina was known for her warm spirit, friendly personality, and outgoing nature. She had a way of making people feel seen and valued. Her smile lit up rooms, and her kindness left lasting impressions. Above all, she was a loving mother whose children were her greatest pride and joy.
