Melody is an 7-year-old student who has touched the hearts of everyone around her. She is known for her kindness, her bright smile, and her ability to make friends wherever she goes. Melody loves Disney, singing, and always has a cheerful word for those she meets. Her joyful spirit and caring nature have made her a beloved friend to many.

Recently, Melody and her family received the difficult news that she has a mass on her brain. She was sent home for a time to rest and surgery was scheduled for 4/1 but after being diagnosed with hydrocephalus & the doctors discovering the tumor had grown, they performed the surgery on 3/23. The doctors were successful in removing the tumor & Melody is resting and recovering at CHOC. After surgery, she was diagnosed with CNS ATRT--a rare, highly aggressive, fast-growing cancer of the central nervous system.

Melody began her first round of chemotherapy which will last 8 weeks. Following that treatment, she will be moved to another hospital to receive radiation therapy.

This has been an incredibly challenging time for Melody and her family, as they face the uncertainty and stress that comes with such a serious medical situation.

The funds raised through this campaign will help support Melody’s mom as she lost her job when taking time off to be by her daughter’s side, and will also help cover the necessary finances.
