I am preparing for the Whipple Procedure surgery at the end of March 2026, and it’s a time of uncertainty for my family and me. As a high school math teacher, I’ve already used many of my sick days, and this upcoming surgery means I’ll need to take additional time off work to recover. My husband, who drives a delivery truck for a local company, will also need to miss work so he can help care for me during my recovery. We are a retired military family, and while we’re used to facing challenges together, this one feels especially tough.
We have four children—two adults, one in college, and one soon to be in college—so our household is always busy and full of life. With both of us missing work for several weeks this spring, we’re worried about keeping up with our regular household expenses. The funds raised through this campaign will help us cover those essential costs while I focus on healing and my husband supports me at home.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us during this difficult time. Even sharing our fundraiser with others would be a tremendous help. We are deeply grateful for your help and encouragement.
