On March 7th, 2026, Melissa, Kaedan, and Brayden were involved in a horrible accident when their vehicle was struck by an 18-wheeler. All three were hospitalized with serious injuries. Melissa and Kaedan were rushed to Evansville Deaconess Midtown trauma unit. Melissa is currently in a medically induced coma due to the pain of her injuries, which include all her ribs being broken, a broken arm, many lacerations, and more. Kaedan has a punctured lung, three cracked ribs, and a laceration on his spleen. Brayden suffered a fractured elbow, lacerations along his face and head, and a damaged liver.

This has been an incredibly difficult time for their family and friends. The road to recovery will be long and challenging, with many medical appointments and ongoing care needed for each of them. The emotional and financial toll is immense, and the family is facing significant expenses for medical bills, travel to and from hospital appointments, and lost wages while they focus on healing.
