Melissa and her daughter Danica have been through unimaginable challenges in a short period of time. Not long ago, they lost their husband and father suddenly at just 52 years old due to an aortic dissection. As they were trying to adjust to this new reality, Melissa suffered a medical emergency—she passed out at Walmart and was rushed to AGH hospital by EMS. There, doctors discovered she had a pulmonary embolism, as well as both breast and kidney cancer. On top of that, she sustained a head injury from her fall, requiring 10 staples.

Now, Melissa is facing a long road of medical appointments and treatments. Because of her health, she is unable to work, leaving her and Danica without any income. The bills and daily expenses are piling up, and the stress of making ends meet is overwhelming for both of them. Through all of this, Melissa has remained strong for her daughter, but they need help to get through this incredibly difficult time.
