Many of you know Megan as a big part of the Shoprite family and Tops community. After losing over 70 pounds and making her name well known in the jiu jitsu community Megan was diagnosed with cancer in March of this year. Two months after receiving the diagnosis Megan suffered a near fatal seizure which lead to a major brain surgery to take out a tumor the size of a baseball; shortly after recovering she suffered another seizure 3 weeks after. With the combination of chemo treatments, radiation and after suffering 2 seizures it made Megan immobile on her own. After months of testing Megan has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer know as Germ Cell Cancer; it is rare in Megan’s case because it is mostly found in children and in men. Megan’s partner Gina and Megan’s parents Keith and Debbie who is fighting cancer herself have been the sole care givers for Megan. Megan has been out of work since early January after her ACL repair surgery and now battling cancer.
