It is with shattered hearts that we share the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Shayne Simon, Meg’s husband, on March 6. To know Shayne was to know a man who lived entirely for others. He was a husband who adored his wife, a father who lived for his four children, and a pillar of the Alexandria, MN community.

To know Shayne was to witness what it means to truly give of oneself. He served our country as a retired Major in the North Dakota Army National Guard, anchoring his life in a profound sense of duty. To Shayne, "community" wasn't just a word, it was how he lived. He brought the same dedication he had in the military home to our schools and ballfields. Whether he was teaching, coaching, or volunteering, Shayne brought his whole heart to everything he did. He spent his life pouring into others, and our community is a reflection of the love and guidance he shared so freely.

The loss of a man who gave so much leaves a void that can never be filled. As Meg and the kids navigate this unimaginable grief, we want to ensure they do not have to carry the financial burden of this tragedy alone.
