Support for Medical Student Facing Hardship
Donation protected
Hi,
I feel vulnerable sharing this information but am struggling to maintain afloat financially while studying for my 8-hour medical school board exam -- Step 1. Due to my medical school's policies, I've had to eventually take a leave of absence due to failing the Step 1 exam twice, which has led to me losing my financial aid.
During this time, I got a job to financially support myself and tried to study but recently stopped working so that I can focus more on Step 1. However, this has put me in a stressful financial situation, so I am currently DoorDashing.
A few days ago, while DoorDashing in the freezing temperatures, I accidentally hit a dishwasher on the highway that greatly damaged my car, which also costs $2000 to repair. Simultaneously, DoorDashing has also taken time away from me studying. So while I am keeping afloat financially by DoorDashing, I have also lost money due to my recent car damage and still haven't had enough time to study for the medical school Step 1 exam that I took a leave of absence for.
As a first-generation college student, I don't come from generations of wealth, so any donations to support me to pay for housing, food, and the car damages would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
