Last week I went to the ER with extreme shortness of breath. This lead to a discovery that I had strep that filled my lungs with fluid and pushed on my heart causing the shortness of breath and insanely high blood pressure. After some imaging, it was discovered that my heart was having some underlying issues as well. I spent 4 days in the ICU and am now, thankfully home.

I just started a new job after the closure of my old job, and while my new boss has offered to advance me some PTO, I anticipate it will not be the full week I was gone, nor will I have the time accumulated to take sick time, PTO, or personal time for all the follow up appointments that I have scheduled in the next few weeks.

As someone on a single income, the financial stress and burden of life in general was already getting tough, but this adds another layer to it. Anything will help and I’m not asking for more than I think I’ll need. If you cannot contribute financially, please say a prayer or two!
