Support for Medical & Post Hospital Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Micheal Garcia, and I am fundraising for my good friend/brother, Kennon Broadhurst.
Ken is more than my friend/brother; he is a father, a husband, an uncle, and a son!
Recently, he suffered an unexpected massive stroke on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022. Discovered at home by his two boys, they had to grow up in a blink of an eye to save their father. Fast thinking retrieved neighbor assistance and prompt medical support.
Sadly, upon arriving at the hospital, doctors determined that Kennon had swelling and bleeding on the brain. It was chaotic, with a lot of questions and even more unknowns.
Surgery on Kennon's brain to stop the bleeding was successful, but his battle is just beginning. Currently, under sedation in the ICU, each day brings an overwhelming wave of hopeful yet heavy news.
During his time in the hospital, Kennon has experienced a combination of swelling, kidney challenges, and pneumonia. Doctors have informed his wife, Myneko, that "potentially" more complications are yet to come! No one at this point can provide details of what his life will look like once he wakes up. Everything from paralysis to assisted living in a medical facility has garnished time as a possibility.
This series of unknown options stoke fear for Myneko, for Ken is the sole financial family provider. Although Myneko has been busy keeping the spirit of her boys high and making arrangements to secure finances for the next three to six months, accruing medical expenses and quality of life medical support after the hospital are not readily known.
This understanding presents an opportunity for all of you! Your financial support/assistance will be allocated based on the following known and potential unknown.
Known Medical Complications & Treatment:
- A blood clot in the brain
- Bleeding in the brain
- Craniotomy
- Brain surgery to remove the blood clot and stop bleeding
- Acute kidney failure
- Dialysis
- High blood pressure
- Low blood pressure
- Pneumonia
- Antibiotics
- Fever
- Low oxidation levels
- Dissection in his vertebral artery
- *At some point, another craniotomy barring any other complications
The estimated cost for all of these procedures & treatments ranges around $95,000.
Unknown Medical Complications, Treatment & Quality of Life Adjustments:
- Tracheotomy
- Applied feeding tube
- Rehabilitation
- Home medical equipment
- Potential Living Assistant Facility
- Potential Nursing Home
- Mortgage
- Living expenses for Wife & Sons (After disability expires or until Wife can find work)
- * Funeral arrangements
The estimated cost for these possibilities and life-altering events ranges around $67,000.
The Broadhurst family and I would like to thank you in advance for your time and consideration to help.
Bless you, all!
