McKenzie and Ricky met a few years ago and quickly fell in love. They got engaged on March 29, 2025, and were married on January 21, 2026, ready to start their new life together in Bondurant. Their happiness grew when they learned they were expecting a baby, but their journey took an unexpected turn when McKenzie was hospitalized at 27 weeks pregnant. Just a week later, little Enzo decided he couldn’t wait to meet his parents and arrived much earlier than planned on February 10th. Since his early arrival, Enzo has been receiving specialized care from the wonderful staff at the Methodist Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

This has been an emotional and challenging time for McKenzie and Ricky as they focus all their energy on supporting Enzo’s growth and recovery. McKenzie had to undergo a c-section and cannot return to work yet. Unfortunately, her work has not paid her maternity leave, and when they do, it will only cover February 2nd through March 11th because she was hospitalized on February 2nd. She is not receiving any disability or other payments, and right now, she will only get two weeks at home with Enzo before she must return to work. The family is facing mounting bills and financial stress on top of the emotional toll of having a baby in the NICU.
