Hello. My sister and I are asking for donations to help with the final expenses for our beloved mother Maxine Williams.
Our mother was such a loving and cheerful person and always a big giver. Her energy and smile lit up any room she walked into.
Our mother Maxine dedicated her life to caring for children, caring for others (especially those in need), and enjoyed spreading genuine love.
Mom’s health began to decline significantly a year ago but she fought every battle thrown her way!
She survived a heart attack, stent placement and 2 strokes and was ready to complete physical therapy in a rehab facility in order to walk again. She was so excited to come home and live her life. She told the doctors “I’m ready to get home to my daughters”.
Unfortunately our mother fell victim to the lack of care and medical knowledge by medical professionals in 2 long term health facilities. She was overdosed and given incorrect medication which caused her to fall into a medical coma.
She was only there for physical therapy but the lack of medical care and lack of attention to detail, they failed our mother and violated their duty to preserve life.
Many of us know people who have been and currently are being failed by our healthcare system. Lack of knowledgeable doctors, nurses and staff are causing people to lose their lives. It’s time to stand up and protect our loved ones!
Our mother does have an insurance policy but unfortunately her life was cut short 2 months before the policy fully matured. We are only going to receive the premiums payments that we paid into the policy. Those will not be refunded until a death certificate is received and we are already encountering issues with the facility completing that in a timely manner.
We are asking that you donate what you can in order to lay our mother to rest. The benefits that are to come later on from our outcry and public demonstrations, will affect everyone positively nationwide when pertaining to proper treatment in healthcare facilities.
In honor of my mother, Maxine Williams, we will also be starting a campaign demanding protection, education and proper care plans and advocacy for loved ones in nursing homes, hospitals and in long care facilities. As family members of loved ones who fall ill, we deserve advocacy to ensure efficient care and attention for our loved ones.
Unethical practices are being committed everyday to patients and family and friends have no idea because there’s no advocacy for us.
We thank you in advance and appreciate your donation and support.
