Maverick, my friend's son, became very sick last week and was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. While doctors attempted to drain fluid from his lungs, his lung collapsed, and he needed to be emergently intubated and sedated. Maverick will remain intubated and sedated for an unknown amount of time—only God knows when he will recover. This has been a terrifying and uncertain time for Maverick and his family, as he was even unable to attend his own birthday party. Maverick has found a love for wrestling, and I know he cannot wait to get back to it once he is healthy again.

Maverick's parents, Parker—a Milwaukee Police Officer for 10 years and a US Army Veteran—and Kaylee, a nurse practitioner in family medicine, are dedicated to their family. Maverick is their one and only son, with an older sister, Brynlee, and a baby sister, Brooklyn. Despite their great careers, their family health insurance deductible is significantly high. Both Parker and Kaylee have had to take off work without hesitation to be by Maverick's side, resulting in a substantial loss of income during this horrible nightmare. The funds raised will help cover their deductible and some lost wages, allowing them to focus on Maverick's recovery and well-being.
