Hello, I have created this page on behalf of Maureen Russell. Although it took a week’s worth of conversation, because of her extremely independent nature & preferred private lifestyle, she has now allowed me to post her story & create this account, to inform everyone of what has happened & give you the opportunity to support any way you can.

One week ago on May, 6Th Maureen was headed home for the night and there was an accident that lead to her entire vehicle & the first section of her home going up in flames… With God watching over her, she was lucky enough to get herself & her puppy Bandit out of the vehicle just in time. Immediately after that, there was an excellent response from our local Fire Department & the Staff at Gainesville Hospital.

Maureen was so blessed to not have suffered any major personal injuries & not completely lose everything… BUT she has unfortunately lost her car, place of living, countless possessions, & does have a long costly road ahead.

I want to make it very clear that Maureen did not want to even post this originally, because she did not want anyone to feel as if she expected their help… But I know from the way she has touched my life in such a short time & seeing her constant acts of complete selflessness… Plus being a part of The Gainesville Area for so long, her 30 Years as a Teacher in Cooke County & with her more Recent/ Current Years working at The Wesley House Assisted Living & Memory Care Facility, I have no doubt that there are countless people that she has touched. I also knew that those same individuals would want to know what is going on and be given the opportunity to assist her in any way they can.
