Hello friends and family,

Some of you know me, and some are meeting me for the first time through this campaign. My name is Melissa, and I have started this GoFundMe for my friend Matthew Anzel (or Matty Ballz as he introduced himself to me at the Gaslight in 2003) and his daughter, Brittany.

On Sunday, December 28th, Matty left this world and all the pain he was enduring for the last 2 years with his fight against cancer. Now his daughter Brit is left to pick up the pieces, which includes not only grieving, but finding homes for his 2 dogs, planning a funeral, and of course, going through his collection of things and figuring out what to do with everything. And she needs your help.

Matty did not want to be cremated as he believed it would disrupt his ability to visit the ones he loved so much - us - while in the afterlife. But as we all know, burials are not inexpensive, and we have to reach out to our community to give him this last wish. Please help us to afford this final gift in this realm so that Matty can rest in peace. All of your donations will go directly to funding his burial, and if we go over the goal, any excess will go to his daughter so that she may have the time to grieve without stress.
