Hello, thanks for stopping by. We are seeking to surround Matthew's mother by helping her cover the cost of having her son's funeral.

Our beloved friend, brother & son Matthew was found almost a year after going missing in Hot Springs, SD. He was 28 years old. He loved his family & loved his roots being a tribal member of the Lakota Sioux from Rosebud & Pine Ridge.

He had so much more love to give & life to live. We are yet to have all the answers to what happened to Matthew, but his body was found and now is ready to be layed to rest. Though its tempting to just focus on the brutal ending of his life and all the unanswered questions we are turning our energy & love to help tell his story & still celebrate his life. Now it is time to give him back to his Creator.

Matthew E. Marshall Jr. was tragically murdered sometime in the last year. We will let the powers that be, continue their investigation, as we mourn & remember him. Matt gave his life to Jesus Christ and tried his best to follow Him despite facing many challenges. He was a unique listening ear. A genuine friend. A willing helper. A loyal soul. Dont let me make him sound too good, he also struggled, was figuring this life out, & was very much a work in progress. He worked helping to build houses and had a skill in building friendships wherever he wandered. He was an artist who loved to write, draw and bead. Though he didn't have many possessions, he leaves a legacy of things not quantifiable.

We seek to help create space to remember this wonderful young man that was loved by so many, and take away the stress of having to pay for this alone. All proceeds will go to covering the funeral costs at George Boom in Sioux Falls, SD, which is $8550. Though his case is unsolved, we still wish to tell his story and lay his body to rest peacefully in Christ.

I (Adam) had the honor of crossing paths with Matthew when he was 8. I volunteered as a mentor at his school and we formed a bond that lasted his whole life. I became an foster parent for him, a friend, a pastor, & family and walked with him for two decades. As his mother is recovering from surgery and does not have the means to cover the $8500 required to lay his body to rest, this is to cover those costs.

We are hosting a simple service to celebrate our friend, brother & son of August 4th in Sioux Falls, SD and will do a balloon release in his honor. This is for anyone who loved Matthew or was loved by Matthew.
