Support for Matthew Wilson's Family After Tragic Loss

Hi everyone, my name is Laela White, and this GoFund Me is for my recently deceased uncle, Matthew Wilson. Matthew suddenly and unexpectedly passed away Sunday night, August 10th, 2025, from a heart attack while at a restaurant at the incredibly young age of 42. Matthew leaves behind 6 children and his life partner Amanda. Matthew was my father's younger brother, and this has completely blind-sighted all of us.

Matthew was a big teddy bear, who always lit up a room and made it his mission to make those around him laugh and have a good time. He was charismatic, silly, chatty, a smartass, and all around a funny guy. Matthew was a great uncle, but he was an even better father, and it breaks my heart knowing he's leaving behind 6 beautiful kids. His two eldest daughters are Lauren, 21 and Leeah, 16, and his four youngest children with his partner Amanda are Mattalyn, age 12, Matthew Jr., age 11, Maclain, age 9, and baby Mayva, age 6.

Matthew was a freelance stagehand and he didn't have life insurance or a plan for his untimely death. I'm setting up this Go Fund Me to help offset the funeral costs and to also help Amanda and the kids have a bit of a cushion to adjust to life without him. We don't come from money, we're real salt of the earth folks, and asking for assistance does not feel natural, but one thing we keep coming back to in the wake of Matt's passing is how important it is to allow ourselves to rely on our community for help.
