On Monday, October 12, our dear friend, Matthew Gutterman, lost his life to a mindless act of violence that has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken and shaken.

I've created this fundraiser in an attempt to relieve the financial pressure that Matthew's family may face while grieving this sudden loss. Please consider donating, and please take care of yourself as you navigate this grief. Drink your water, remember to eat, and please hug your homies.

if you have ANY INFORMATION, please contact Major Crimes Detective A. Sleem in Team B (contact info @ https://www.rva.gov/police/major-crimes-contact-list )

AN UPDATE FROM THE GUTTERMAN'S (10/19/26):

The way our community has shown up to honor Matthew and take care of one another has been beautiful and inspiring to witness. Thank each and every one of you for your donations. The Gutterman's have decided to use the funds raised to create a scholarship (yet to be determined) in Matthew's name. Thank you again. Updates will follow. Stay grateful.
