It is with heavy hearts that the Schoeppe family announces the sudden and tragic passing of Mathew Schoeppe. We have no words to describe the immense grief we are engulfed in at this moment. At only 59 years of age, Matt collapsed while at work on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, and the Lord took him instantly.
To know Matt was to love Matt. He was a gentle giant, larger than life in every way. He was quick to laugh, never failed to come through with a good pun and find humor in even the hardest of situations (something he probably learned from being a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan all his life!). He had a kind word for anyone who crossed his path and an unparalleled spirit of generosity. His children will remember him as a goofball, an amazing role model, an incredibly hard worker, and a man who always followed Jesus’ call and put God first.
Matt leaves behind a heartbroken family - his wife Michelle and their 11 beautiful children: Melvin (21), Henry (19), Jason (18), Dawson (18), Brent (17), Aaron (15), Joseph (15), Wedje (15), Malcolm (14), Samuel (13) and Preston (11). Nine of his sons still live at home. While his absence leaves a void that will never be filled, his legacy lives on through his family.
While Michelle worked primarily in the home, Matt was the main breadwinner. We know that the Lord provides and we start this Gofundme with the hope that we can lift Michelle and the boys up and give them the space to grieve without having to stress about their financial situation.
We love the Schoeppe family so much and are beyond appreciative of any way you can support them. Please know that whether you donate $0.50, $5 or $500, it will be a help and an encouragement to the Schoeppes. Our goal is to raise funds to cover both funeral expenses and bridge the gap of general living expenses until financial affairs get settled. If you cannot afford to donate, please consider sharing this GoFundMe or leaving an uplifting comment for them. We know you will hold them in your prayers.
Gratefully yours,
Matt’s siblings
Terry, Dawn, Mark, Rita, Renee and Beth
