Support Matt on his Cancer Journey

Our dear friends,

In recent weeks, Matt has been diagnosed with cancer — an aggressive nasopharyngeal carcinoma that has spread to the lymph nodes. This has been a difficult and jarring reality to comprehend. We have felt held and loved by those of you who have supported us during this time. Fortunately, Matt’s incredible oncology team is confident that an aggressive treatment plan combining chemotherapy and radiation will eradicate this cancer. This daily treatment program is scheduled to begin this week at Barshinger Cancer Institute here in Lancaster. We are fortunate to have insurance that should cover most of the medical expenses. However, the oncology team has informed us that Matt will not be able to continue painting for the next two to three months. This is due to the importance he will need to place on devoting all of his energy and focus toward the treatment, in the hope of maintaining his strength and health. Matt has been self-employed for the past several years doing residential/commercial painting and cleaning work. Many of you have already asked us how you can support us financially during this season. Thus we want to offer this option/link as a means toward this.
