My mom, Mary Shaffer, passed away unexpectedly on 1/26/26 due to cardiac and internal bleeding issues.

Mary was diagnosed in 2017 with Essential Thrombocythemia, which is a form of blood cancer, and was winning the battle. However, in January 2026, she was also diagnosed with an additional blood cancer, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and was set to start treatment for her AML the same week she passed. Unfortunately, her AML diagnosis and treatment did not come soon enough and caused the sudden cardiac event and internal bleeding issues that resulted in her passing.

Any donations are greatly appreciated and will go directly towards Mary’s funeral services and medical expenses.

Services will be at Jenkins Funeral Chapel located at 2914 Dover Center Road in Westlake Ohio on Saturday January 31, 2026 from 11am-1pm
