Hi All. My name is Tori and I have known the Nichols family for over a decade. Mary has been a kind and generous mother figure to me since her daughter Holly and I became close friends in middle school. Mary is easily one of the sweetest, funniest, sassiest, and most selfless women I have ever had the privilege of knowing.

Sadly, Mary was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of Cancer — Small Cell Lung Cancer — two years ago, and it has spread rapidly throughout her lungs, brain and liver. As a single mom, she still continued to work for the past two years, full-time, while undergoing intense chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She fought hard to be there for her daughter’s college graduation and for her disabled son. In the last month, Mary’s health has deteriorated rapidly. As of 12/26/23, she was released from the hospital and is home receiving hospice care.

Currently, Mary is unresponsive (but comfortable) and her final moments are approaching. Her kids, Holly and Matthew, do not have the means to pay for a funeral and I want to help. Nobody should have to carry the stressful burden of scrambling financially to honor their mom while grieving.
