This gofund me account is for my sister Mary Margaret Thompson (23), she works as a para for special needs kids at the Jacobson Elementary School in Belmond, IA. This is being made to help her out for any upcoming medical bills and houseing expenses in case she has to take extended time off work, originally it started with an ER visit for jaundace, come to find out she has a mass on her liver that was pressing on her bile ducts to cause the jaundace that doctors are pretty sure is cancerous, along with other nodules and lesions around her liver and lung that doctors are not sure what they are yet but are possible metastasis, we still dont have all the information but we're waiting on biopsy results and a pet scan to take place to figure out what kinda of cancer this is and next steps. As of right now she has a stent in place to keep the bile duct open so her jaundace has been getting better and billirubin levels have been going down day by day and expect to return to normal but will have to go in again for another small procedure to realign the stent to a better position, we expect theres still a long road ahead that is either going to involve surgery, chemotheropy, or both. I can give updates as we know more but for right now we are doing everything one step at a time in the fastest possible manner, any contributions or prayers would be greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts, thanks everyone.
