My name is Evelyn, and I am the older sister of Mary K Rogers, Duron. In December 2025, our family faced a heartbreaking challenge when my sister's spouse, Edward, was detained by ICE. It all began when Edward was stopped by a police officer for an expired car tag. Even though he has no criminal record and is married to a US citizen, the officer called ICE on him. At the time, Edward's visa application was already in progress, and he and Mary have two teenagers with another child on the way. Despite presenting proof of the visa process, the officer did not take it into consideration, and Edward has been detained ever since.
This situation has placed a tremendous burden on my sister and mother. The legal process is costly, and with only part-time jobs, it has been difficult to keep up with household bills. To make matters even harder, our family recently lost a loved one—Mary's sister—and had to cover funeral expenses as well. The emotional and financial strain has been overwhelming, but we are doing our best to stay strong and support each other.
My mother, Maria, has a giving heart and loves to pray for everyone she meets. Her kindness and faith have always been a source of comfort for our family and community. Mary, my sister, is deeply involved in ministry and sings at church, sharing her love for others through music. The love in her singing truly shows her compassion and dedication to helping those around her.
We are reaching out for help to cover the legal fees needed to fight for Edward's release and to keep up with essential household bills during this difficult time. Any support, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference for my mother and sister. Thank you for the kindness and hearts. It is appreciated—may God bless everyone abundantly.
