My father-in-law, Mark Fuller, lives just outside of Orlando, Florida. Last week, he drove to Texas to visit family and was staying at a hotel not far from our home. Early Saturday morning, he left to grab a cup of coffee — something simple that turned into something life-changing.
As he was crossing an overpass, another vehicle driving at a high speed on the service road ran a red light and struck the passenger side of Mark’s truck, causing it to flip. We have learned that the other driver did not have insurance on the vehicle.
Miraculously, two witnesses — one an off-duty police officer and the other a nurse — stopped and rushed to help. The nurse later said she truly thought she was approaching a fatality. But by the grace of God, Mark survived.
While most of his injuries were minor, the most devastating injury was to his left hand. His window had been down, and his hand was resting on the door frame when the truck rolled. The impact crushed his hand. After several evaluations, doctors have made the heartbreaking decision to amputate it.
His wife, Sheila, had to immediately fly to Texas to be by his side, and she’ll be here for an unknown length of time as they navigate this trauma together.
They’re now facing mounting hospital bills, the total loss of their truck, and countless unexpected expenses. Mark is a deeply loved member of his Florida community — always the first to help a neighbor with yard work, lend a hand, or show up for someone in need. Now, he’s the one in need of support.
I’ve created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on Mark and Sheila while they focus on healing and adjusting to the challenges ahead. Every donation, share, and prayer means the world to our family.
We’ll continue to provide updates as we learn more about the crash and Mark’s recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
