For Mark and his family, words hardly feel big enough to capture the kind of man his father, Nelson, was. He was charismatic, selfless, loving, hardworking, dependable, and deeply devoted to his family. He lived in a way that reminded those around him to value life, family, and what truly matters.

On January 5, 2024, Nelson survived a tragic accident and began a recovery journey that would last more than two years. Throughout that time, his 24-year-old son, Mark, became one of his strongest advocates.

At an age when most young adults are still finding their own path, Mark found himself navigating complex medical care, rehabilitation, specialists, and difficult decisions. He continued searching for every possible opportunity to give his dad the best chance at recovery and, ultimately, the hope of returning home.

On August 8, 2026, Nelson’s long battle came to an end, and he passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, resilience, and devotion to his family.
