This fundraiser is to help provide financial relief to both Marisa and her mother Blanca.

On Friday April 17th Marisa and her boyfriend Diego were enjoying an evening at the Main St Arts Festival in Fort Worth. After grabbing a late dinner at Buffalo Bros., they were hit by a drunk driver while walking back to their parking garage. 

Marisa and Diego were both immediately rushed to the hospital and we are so grateful that Diego was able to be released that same day!

Marisa however faced life‑threatening injuries and has endured multiple risky but life-giving surgeries over these past few weeks. She is literally a miracle!! Thanks to the incredible efforts of her medical team and everyone's prayers, she survived those first critical days and has continued to fight for each day that has followed. Unfortunately, her fight is far from over. There are still yet many surgeries/procedures in Marisa's immediate and long-term future. Which also includes an unknown number of months that lie ahead of rehabilitation and physical therapy.

Right now, Marisa is still in the ICU, being taken care of by an incredible team, and for that...her loved ones are extremely grateful.

It goes without saying that this accident has turned their world upside down. Blanca has stayed by her daughters side in the hospital every single day and night. She has not seen her own front door since this pressing season began...showering at the hospital, and heavily relying on her amazing family and support system to take on the day to day care for her two school age sons. This also means that Blanca has taken leave from work as a high school assistant principal with no anticipation of being able to return in the immediate coming days.

With both Marisa and Blanca being unable to work right now and as Marisa fights to heal, the family is facing mounting medical bills and the difficulty to cover everyday expenses and essential needs.
