This fundraiser is in loving memory of Marion Christine Hurst, a devoted mother, a new grandmother and the beloved wife of Michael Hurst. Marion passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 28, 2026, leaving our family heartbroken and reeling from this unimaginable loss.

As we grieve, we are also looking for ways to honor and celebrate Marion’s life; the kindness she shared, the relationships she built, and the many people she touched during her time in Anchorage. We are deeply grateful for the support of this community and of everyone whose life Marion impacted.

While we have not yet finalized a date, we are tentatively planning a Celebration of Life service in May. May holds deep meaning for our family, as her birthday is on May 1st, and her son’s follows shortly after on May 16th. May is also one of the most beautiful times of year in Anchorage, when the trees and flowers return after the long winter. It feels like the perfect moment to honor her life, surrounded by the renewal and warmth she brought into the community and to all the people she knew.

Any support during this difficult time will help our family as we navigate arrangements and work toward honoring Marion in a way that reflects the amazing person she was.
