It is with immense sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mario Munguia, a beloved and long-standing member of the Whippoorwill community. Words cannot fully express how much he will be missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and the membership he served so faithfully for many years.
Mario began his journey at Whippoorwill in April 1990 and dedicated 36 years of service to the Club, most notably as a food runner in our restaurant. Throughout his remarkable career, Mario became a familiar and cherished presence to so many of our members and staff. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his work left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His commitment to the Club and to the people he served was truly exceptional, and his legacy here will not be forgotten.
A legacy such as Mario's does not come around often, and we are all better for having the opportunity to know him and call him a friend. Many of you shared countless moments with Mario over the years, and we know his absence will be deeply felt throughout the Club. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
Mario is survived by his wife Rosalia and their two children, Oscar and Cindy. Many of you know Oscar, also a longtime member of our staff: a kind, warm and motivated young man.
Many in our Whippoorwill family have reached out to help. Please donate to help the Munguia family in their time of need.
