It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of precious baby girl, Maria de Leon, who was only one and a half years old when she passed after a long and courageous journey.
For the past year, she fought bravely following a heart transplant at UVA Children’s Hospital. Through every challenge, she showed incredible strength, surrounded by the love of her family. Despite all efforts, she recently passed, leaving behind a grieving family who loved her deeply.
This family of five is now facing the unimaginable—the loss of their daughter and sister—while also carrying the unexpected financial burden of funeral and burial expenses.
We are coming together to support them during this heartbreaking time. Funds raised will go directly toward laying their baby girl to rest and helping ease the financial strain as they begin to navigate life after this loss.

Con profunda tristeza, compartimos el fallecimiento de la querida, María de León, quien falleció a solo un año y medio de edad tras una larga y valiente lucha.
Durante el último año, luchó valientemente tras un trasplante de corazón en el Hospital Infantil de la Universidad de Virginia. Ante cada desafío, demostró una fuerza increíble, rodeada del amor de su familia. A pesar de todos los esfuerzos, falleció recientemente, dejando atrás a una familia desconsolada que la amaba profundamente.
Esta familia de cinco se enfrenta ahora a lo inimaginable: la pérdida de su hija y hermana, además de la inesperada carga financiera de los gastos funerarios y de entierro.
