Hello family & friends, near and far, I am making a request on behalf of my dear friend Diana. I want to share a little bit about her mom, Maria F. Sousa, who is currently in hospice and in her last days, I’m asking for prayers and any support you can give. Maria has been married for over 55 years. In 1976, she came to the United States from Terceira in the Azores with nothing but faith and determination. She built a life here through sacrifice, hard work, and an unwavering trust in God. She was once told she couldn’t have children, but after arriving in this country, she became pregnant with her only child, Diana — her miracle. Maria has always made Diana like the greatest blessing of her life. She is sassy, funny, kind, and incredibly generous. She loves animals — if she could, she would take in every stray. Her Catholic faith has always been strong. Even now, though her mind isn’t fully clear, she still prays. She worked so hard to build a life from nothing. Her daughter has been her whole world, and when her grandchildren were born, she lovingly helped raise them. Everything she has done has been for her family. Now we just want to do everything we can for her and the family.

As we prepare for the days ahead, Diana & the kids would like to give her a proper Catholic burial that honors her faith and the beautiful life she lived. Funeral and burial expenses are overwhelming, and any support would mean so much.
