On Thursday evening, our beloved grandmother Maria del Rosario Mata de Brito or as we all call her Mama Chayo, suffered a terrible fall outside her home after returning from a doctor’s appointment. She hit her head and was rushed to the hospital. Despite the doctors’ efforts, the injuries were too severe — Sadly, she passed away on Saturday at 1:52 p.m.

Our hearts are broken beyond words. This tragedy happened so suddenly that none of us were prepared. Mama Chayo was full of love, strength, and kindness she was the heart of our family. Losing her in this way has devastated us all.

We are now facing funeral and burial costs we simply weren’t ready for. We want to give her the beautiful, peaceful farewell she deserves. Any amount you can give will help ease this unexpected financial burden and allow us to focus on grieving and honoring her memory.
