Margarita is a queer disabled survivor of domestic violence and a single mother of three young children. She has lived in the United States since she was just three months old, and will soon be deported from the only home she has ever known.

Margarita has been incarcerated for over two years. After a long, hard court battle, the Immigration Judge denied Margarita's application for protection in the United States and ordered her deported. Margarita made the difficult choice not to appeal this decision so that she can support her family during a trying time.

While Margarita has been detained, her mother has been caring for her three daughters, two of whom have disabilities. Her mother has late stage cancer and does not have much longer to live. Once she is deported, Margarita plans to work and send money home to her mother and children, and hopes to spend time with her family in the free world before her mother passes away.
