Hi everyone, my name is Monica, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Mara and her family.

Mara and I met through our children, who have been in the same class since Junior Kindergarten at our local school. Over time, we’ve developed a close friendship, she’s a loving and devoted mom who always puts her kids first.

On November 4, 2025, Mara’s husband Daniel was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Rexdale and was rushed to the hospital with critical/life-altering injuries. You can see a brief news report about the accident below for more context.

This tragedy has completely turned the family’s world upside down. To make matters even more overwhelming, Mara recently discovered she is expecting another baby, while caring for their two young children, ages 3 and 6.

Daniel had just started a new delivery job when the accident occurred, and with him now unable to work, the family has no stable income. Mara is doing everything she can to manage household expenses while being there for Daniel and the children, but the situation is incredibly difficult.

I started this GoFundMe to help support them through this crisis, covering groceries, rent, diapers, and other essentials as they navigate the weeks ahead.
