Hello, my name is Norma Big Eagle. I am raising funds for my daughter, Memory Big Eagle, and her fiancé, Roper Hammersley, as they say goodbye to my beloved granddaughter, Maple Arlis Kay Hammersley.

Currently, Maple is at Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls. Maple was admitted to the PICU on June 15, 2025. What was initially diagnosed as a stomach bug or constipation turned critical when Maple suffered multiple seizures and stopped breathing on June 19th. Since that time, Maple has been intubated. After multiple MRIs, it was determined that Maple's brain is no longer functioning as it should. Memory and Roper have been told to prepare themselves and start making arrangements for Maple.

As anyone can imagine, Memory, Roper, and all of our families are devastated and heartbroken. Any help is appreciated as this was not the outcome we all were hoping for.

Update 6/26/25:

Maple passed away in 6/24/25 surrounded by her parents, grandparents and extended family. Maple is very much loved and missed by all her family. They say it takes a village to raise a child and Maple had a village and more. As much as we were blessed with Maple’s presence she was blessed to have the best parents Memory & Roper whose main focus was making sure Maple was taken care of and surrounded with love. Funeral arrangements are pending and donations are still needed. Thank you so much to those who have already donated.
