Malicah is currently facing serious health challenges that no child should have to endure. In less than a year, he has been hospitalized five times, with many of those stays requiring intensive care. Recently, his condition has become more serious. Malicah is now dependent on TPN (nutrition through his veins) to survive, and his body is working hard every day just to keep going. Since starting TPN, it has helped address his need to gain weight, but he has also experienced an increase in health complications. Even on a “good” month, they are in and out of the hospital every couple of weeks. Right now, he is also battling pneumonia, and his body is fighting hard.

The Moore's Family life has become a cycle of emergency hospital visits, long inpatient stays (including ICU), constant specialist appointments, ongoing therapies, and monitoring. There are many days and nights where sleep is limited, plans are canceled, and everything revolves around making sure Malicah is stable. Because of the level of care he needs, My sister is unable to work consistently. Between frequent hospitalizations, daytime appointments, and overnight stays, her full focus has to be on caring for him and keeping him stable, while also doing her best to be present for her other two children. Doctors continue to monitor him closely, and while there are still many unknowns, She is choosing to trust God and take this journey one day at a time.
