My name is Christina and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Mahmod. All funds will be transferred to him via PayPal.
Meet Mahmod Maroof, a 30-year-old fruit and falafel vendor from the historic city of Nablus, Palestine. Mahmod and his siblings are the caretakers for his elderly and chronically ill parents, who rely on him for their daily needs, medical care, and survival. Mahmod is hoping to buy his father an electric wheelchair.
Mahmod’s life is a daily act of resilience. Like many Palestinians in the West Bank, he struggles to make ends meet under the weight of a crippling occupation. Restrictions on movement, frequent military incursions, road closures, and economic instability have made earning a living nearly impossible. His small food stall is often his only source of income — but even that is never guaranteed. Any day, he could be shut down or caught in the crossfire of the violence that surrounds his community.
Living under constant threat, Mahmod works in fear that a clash, a raid, or another act of aggression could rob him of everything — including his life or the lives of those he loves. Yet despite the hardship, he continues to show up every day, doing whatever he can to keep his family afloat and their dignity intact.
Today, Mahmod needs your help. The income from his modest fruit and falafel stand cannot cover the increasing medical costs for his parents, basic household expenses, or the many challenges that come with surviving in a region under occupation. Your support can help him:
Secure proper medical care and medication for his parents
Maintain and possibly expand his small food business, cover housing, food, and essential living expenses and provide some sense of stability and safety amid an unstable reality.
Every donation is a lifeline, not just for Mahmod, but for the parents who depend on him and the future he’s trying to hold on to.
Please donate and share. Stand with Mahmod. Show him that even in the darkest places, he is not alone.
