Tribute for Mahfud

Dearest friends and family members,

It is with a heavy heart that we let you know that my father, Mahfud, has tragically passed away on February 26th 2021, in a car accident in Somaliland.

He was back home, building my parent's future retirement home as my mother had always dreamed of living in Africa with him. This was the beginning of the next chapter of their lives.

As described by one of my father's dear friends," Mahfud was difficult to explain even for Carl Jung. He was a beautiful walking paradox.
A strict Muslim upbringing, yet a liberated French sophistication." 

He was a ray of light that would bring colour into any room he stepped foot in. He was full of love and people always seemed to naturally gravitate towards him. 

He was a hard working family man that brought to life every dream he had. 

He was the purest definition of an Artist and didn't care much for how people perceived him as long as what he did brought him and the ones close to him happiness. He unapologetically was himself. 

We are hurt but I think I can speak for both my mother and siblings when I say that we are so grateful to have been blessed with an amazing father/spouse who inspired us to be happy and chase what we want out of life with love. 

Some of you have reached out and asked how you can help us during this time. Know that your kindness is much appreciated as we navigate this heartbreaking moment. We kindly ask, if you are able to, to donate funds towards the heavy cost of travel for  the funeral service we held in his home country as per his final wish.
