It’s been over two weeks since Maggie initially sought treatment for a sore Lip. She went to Corry Hospital on July19, they told her she had a sunburn on her lip and sent her home, she then went to Warren hospital to seek treatment as she was having a lot of swelling. At Warren she was told she had a cold sore and sent home. On Monday July 21 Maggie was admitted to Hamot with a life threatening infection in her blood MRSA. Currently still in ICU in Pittsburgh fighting the infection, on several medications and has had 2 surgeries. She needs love and support to get through this, her Family is staying close by.

Maggie Swarm, age 27, is currently fighting a severe MRSA infection that has turned her life upside down. After spending a week at Hamot in Erie, Maggie’s condition became so critical that she had to be life flighted to Pittsburgh for specialized care. She is now in the ICU, where doctors are working tirelessly to find the right combination of medications to control the infection that has spread throughout her body.

This sudden and serious illness has placed a tremendous emotional and financial strain on Maggie’s family. Her husband is doing everything possible to be by her side, but the costs are quickly adding up. Between hotel stays in Pittsburgh, travel expenses, and everyday bills back home, the family is struggling to keep up while focusing on Maggie’s recovery.
