Hello families and friends,
My name is Mona Jocson and on behalf of my sister, Mary and brother-in-law Jeffrey, we would like to share with profound sadness and broken hearts that my niece Madilyn Rene, 12 years old, lost her battle to depression and took her own life this past Sunday morning, 05/18/2025.
Madilyn, a loving daughter, a sweet sister, a great grandaughter, a loyal friend and was a shining light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a school cheerleader, a member of her school choir, drama club member, a makeup enthusiast and has a passion in drawing, dancing, singing and acting. She had dreams as big as her heart and future full of promises.
Depression is a silent killer, it's stays hidden, it's easy to camouflage, easy to hide. A devastating illness that can hide behind even the brightest smiles. Madi, as what everybody calls her, fought bravely against this invisible disease, but in the end, the pain became too much for her to bear even with the strong support from her parents, siblings, families and friends. Mary and Jeff did everything they could in their own way to fight alongside with her. We share this not to define her, but to raise mental health awareness. You are not alone, you are more than enough!
I’ve created this go fund me page to help ease the financial burden of Madi’s family.
We are deeply grateful for any support you can provide- whether financial contribution no matter the size or through your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness during this difficult time means more to our family than words can express.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the life of our beloved Madilyn Rene and for standing with us as we navigate this difficult journey.
