Hello Friends! I am starting this to get some help for my sister, Elizabeth Dupre. On 2/13/2026 my neice, Madalyn, had a seizure and was flown by helicopter to Comers Children’s Hospital. She was quickly intubated and put in a medically induced coma to get to the bottom of wha happened. She was in the PICU for a week. Within a few days and lots of testing, she was slowly woken up and has been making great progress daily! They found she had a dormant virus which lead to encephalitis. Through her testing, it was also shown she had another autoimmune disorder that presented itself. Basically her body was over attacking itself. All very rare disorders that just happened.

After 13 days in the hospital, she is finally home and on the road to recovery. With the autoimmune disorders and the seizure recovery, Maddy will most likely be home from school a bit longer.

Elizabeth, my sister, has been the greatest support for Maddy throughout all of this. She has not left her side once and is EXACTLY what Maddy needed. This also kept her from being with her three other girls and work. She does not know when she will be able to return to

work and all of this time off and added expenses has sure started adding up. I am starting this to hopefully help take some of the financial stress off of her and the burden that can carry. We have had so many people reach out asking how they can help and I felt this would benefit her and the girls most. This way she can just be there helping Madalyn recover and get back to her normal, thriving life
