My grandson Maddox recently contracted flu A, and since his diagnosis, his condition has gotten worse. On Sunday, January 25, he was seen at the Presque Isle emergency room, where doctors discovered a blood clot in his head. They determined he needed to be seen in Bangor, and once there, they found he also had an infection in his blood along with the blood clot. Bangor then sent him to Portland, where he will be introduced to an infectious disease team for further treatment.
Maddox's mom and dad are with him every step of the way, but funds are very low to keep them there to support their boy. The costs of gas, food, and hotel stays are adding up quickly, and we have no idea how long Maddox will need to remain in the hospital. This has been an incredibly difficult and uncertain time for our family, and we are doing everything we can to make sure Maddox has his parents by his side.
Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated and will go directly toward helping Maddox's family with travel, meals, and lodging while they stay with him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support. – Lisa, Maddox's nana.
