Andrew and Maddie went to a routine ultrasound excited to see their baby boy on Wednesday May 4 and their whole world was shaken as they got news no parent ever wants to hear. Their rainbow baby boy, had a severe heart abnormality and issues with his arms and hands. Thanks to the amazing team of doctors working with them, they were able to get into Dartmouth the next day to diagnose this heart issue and find out if their little boy would be able to survive, If the heart condition was operable and figure out what was going on with his arms and hands. Today we got news that Odin is missing his radial arm bone on the right side and only has a thumb and finger on his right hand. On the left side he has a normal arm but is missing one finger we also discovered  that little Odin has multiple heart abnormalities which leads them to suspect  one or two heart defects, which are all operable. But it is unknown if these surgeries will need to be performed directly after birth or if they can wait hours or days as Odin regains strength after birth. It is unknown how many surgery’s Odin will have to undergo in his life, but he will not survive without initial surgery. He will be being operated on at Boston children’s hospital, and Maddie will be receiving various testing and care at Dartmouth Hitchcock.  Odin and Maddies  care leading up to birth and after birth  will be extremely extensive and expensive. We are asking for donations that will help Maddie and Andrew With travel fees, medical bills and every day bills as they both will be missing work for the many appointments they have ahead of them. This is not an easy road, but Odin is a fighter and we appreciate any and all help anyone can offer.
