On New Year's Day at 1am, my cousin Lynessa Perkins, 43, of Olathe, KS, was the 1st fatality of 2026 for Las Vegas, which was caused by a hit-and-run vehicle on pedestrian accident.

Our family is needing help with traveling expenses to and from Kansas City to Las Vegas to get her body back, as well as funeral expenses. This whole thing was an unexpected tragedy and we are of course not prepared for any of it. Any help is appreciated, even just sharing helps a lot. God bless you all.
