Support for LyLy's Family
Donation protected
Today, April 14th 2021, our dear sister, colleague and friend Lyly passed away suddenly on her family’s farm.
It is almost impossible to express in a few words how much Lyly meant to those of us who knew her.
A strong and independent woman, Lyly empowered herself, and then with her qualities of passion and leadership, empowered others, both Lao and foreigners with whom she worked with. Her willingness to embrace new ideas and passionately throw herself into whatever opportunities came her way enabled her to devote her life to helping others in her community – particularly women and girls - in Luang Prabang and in wider Laos.
Lyly was one of the kindest, most generous and loving people. Her smile and infectious giggle made her a person who could light up any room.
Losing Lyly is a tragedy which has cut short a life that still had so much to give; but during the time she was with us, Lyly touched so many lives and was an inspiration and role model. She will be remembered with love.
As we mourn this devastating loss, we have started this page to bring together both the Lao and international community who were lucky enough to know Lyly.
All funds raised here will go towards Lyly’s funeral (which will be approximately $3900 USD) and ongoing expenses to ensure the family can continue to be supported without financial burden as they cope with this deep loss.
With love and gratitude,
Katie Ippolito, Leyla Isin-Xiong, Molly Plexico, Valee Isin-Xiong
