Dear friends and family,

I'm writing to you today to let everyone know of the loss of my dear father Luis Umaña. He passed unexpectedly on Thanksgiving November 28th, 2024.

Our family is absolutely devastated by my father's passing who was the eldest of 8 children. He was a father to Chelsea and Luisa and Grandfather to his 6 year old grandson Anthony who proudly honored his grandfathers name as his middle name(Anthony Luis). Luis was a loving husband to his wife for almost 40 years Jeanne Umana.

Luis was often found walking the neighborhood helping neighbors generously with their handyman needs. He also spent a considerable amount of time at the church he was devoted to taking leads on any of their handywork as well. He was devoted to serving Christ in all aspects of his life, it brought him fulfillment and pride being able to do so.

He was respected by many and will be missed dearly. He was a sentimental man holding on to old letters from El Salvador his homeland and photos of friends, family, and those that preceded him. He loved all of his nieces and nephews and often beamed with pride when talking about any of them. A great storyteller and prankster till the end he enjoyed living his life, tending to his garden, and never stopped his inner child from taking the lead. He found beauty in the mundane, sitting in his garage watching the world go by happily on any given afternoon.

We love you papa and the world will not be the same to us without you.

While we are so grateful that friends and family so graciously want to help in many ways with food, flowers, and other gifts the family is asking in lieu of these for contributions towards a memorial fund in his name.
