Support for Luis' Cremation and Vigil

A Father, Brother, Son, and Friend Gone Too Soon

Our family is heartbroken to share that my brother, Luis, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 45. He was a kind, hardworking man who loved his family deeply, especially his young daughter, Emma.

On Friday, December 20, he was at home cooking dinner when he collapsed. His 9-year-old daughter found him and called 911. She ran to get additional help from a neighbor, who cared for her while paramedics worked tirelessly to resuscitate him. Despite their efforts, my brother passed away that evening.

We are now faced with the sudden and overwhelming responsibility of arranging his cremation and honoring his memory. We are currently planning a vigil to take place in North Minneapolis, and I am working with the medical examiner and funeral home on immediate arrangements.

This has been an incredibly difficult time, especially for 9-year-old Emma, who witnessed this tragedy firsthand. We want to provide her and the rest of our family with the opportunity to grieve and remember him in a meaningful way.
